JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT
Age 7-13
This program exposes kids to all event disciplines in the sport; endurance, sprints, hurdles, jumps and throws. Our goal is to create a FUN environment for kids to enjoy track and field inspired activities that are the foundation for all other sports, thereby improving your child’s physical literacy. This will benefit all GAMES they participate in, and we strongly encourage kids to participate in other sports. Specializing in a sport at this age is counter to our
approach supported by Athletics Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development Model.

We have 2 age groups in this program, both rooted in Long Term Athlete Development:

FUNdamentals for ages 7-10 is more focused on a FUN introduction to the sport where kids will have the opportunity to learn all of the aspects of running, jumping and throwing through track and field inspired GAMES.

FUNdational Skills for ages 11-13 involves more specific event training and skill development and gently introduces some competitive opportunities. The emphasis here is on bridging the gap from elementary school to high school in a FUN and challenging environment.

Detailed practice schedules can be found on our new app. Download it here. For members only.
Ages are as of Dec. 31 2025. For those born 2012-2018.

PROVINCIAL
DEVELOPMENT
14 - 18
Designed is to prepare high school aged athletes for the ‘Learn to Compete’ stage of the Long Term Athlete Development Model, you must be at least 14 years old and all abilities are welcome in this program. Athletes are still learning the basics of track and field, but at this level, you will begin to move in one of 2 directions: Endurance (track events 800m and longer) or Speed/Power events (Sprints, Hurdles, Jumps, Throws).
At this stage, athletes may even find themselves training alongside a provincial medalist or an aspiring national team member. It is a unique training environment managed by our top level coaches who will work to transition youngsters through a system with the goal of qualifying for provincial competitions. As you get older and more developed as an athlete, programming and periodization play a larger role in your training.

Ages are as of Dec. 31 2025. For those born 2007-2011.

Our National Development program is not an open membership, and is designed for post- collegiate athletes training to prepare for National Championships and to earn National Team assignments.
