11 Qualify for OFSAA XC


The WOSSAA cross country championships were held on Thursday, October 27 at Springbank Park. This meet serves as the qualifier for OFSAA. The top 5 individuals and top two teams in each age group automatically qualify for OFSAA. This year’s OFSAA will be at Port Hope on November 5.

In all 11 members of the LWTFC distance group have qualified on to OFSAA.

Junior Boys:

Evan Burke (South) 3rd

Jacob Kime (Central) 10th (1st place team)

Senior Girls:

Martina Tait (St. Anne’s) 3rd

Zoe Burke (South) 4th

Monica Baldassarre (Lucas) 15th (2nd place team)

Kyleigh Stubbs (St. Joe’s) 25th (1st place team)

Senior Boys:

Brad Sheeler (Holy Cross) 1st

Levi Shimer-Whitehead (Central) 2nd (also 2nd place team)

Kyle Farquarson (SDCI) 4th

London Western XC athletes are winding down the season, as there are only a few remaining championship meets for those who qualify:

Oct. 29 OCAA (Ontario College) championship

Oct. 30 OUA (Ontario University) championship

Nov. 5 OFSAA

Nov. 12 CIS (Canadian University) championship

Nov. 12 CCAA (Canadian College) championship

Nov. 13 AO (Ontario club) championship

Nov. 26 AC (National club) championship
