We wrapped up another stellar year at the 2025 Awards Banquet, held at Bellamere Winery on December 9.
Thanks to our dedicated athletes, coaches, and volunteers, we reclaimed the AO Outdoor Club Championship title (our 5th in six years!) and took silver for the Indoor Club Championships.
Outdoors, the Open and U18 divisions won Gold, U20 took the Silver, and U16 won Bronze. Indoors, the Open team won Silver while the U18 won Bronze. Outstanding!
A total of 44 National Outdoor Championship medals were won—

· Masters—22 **wow! Our Masters rock!

· Lanni Marchant—Athlete/Distance (Marathon)—1999-lifetime member
· Multi-National team member, 2016 Olympian (Marathon/10000m) and former
Canadian Women’s Marathon record holder
Guest speaker, Vickie Croley, delivered valuable tips and information about how best to explore post-secondary athletic opportunities to our members. This information will soon be available on our website.
Awards were presented to the outstanding female/male age group winners, Athletes Council special awards, with the prestigious Art Obokata award presented to Donna Tomicevic. Donna serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Directors as well as Head Coach of the Jumps group. Her selfless commitment to the LWTFC is representative of the same qualities that Art himself exhibited.
Thank you to our partners New Balance London, BackRoads Brews + Shoes, Damian Warner Fitness Centres, Skye Health, re-Charge Health & Wellness, and MHP Therapy for providing door prizes for the raffle draw, as well the following businesses for donating items as well: Nash Jewellers and Stretch Health Canada.
Many thanks to our banquet committee of Elysa Mascotto, Alisa Murphy-Smith, and Kathy Roberts for putting together a fabulous evening of food, fun, and recognition. A big thank you to our Athlete’s Council members for their help that night, especially co-emcees Elliott Nash and Carly Lightfoot. And finally…thank you to all who attended, helping to make another successful event!
