London Western’s cross country runners wrapped up another successful season at the Athletics Canada cross country championships on November 25 in Kingston, Ontario. The team had success at all levels, with 23 high school athletes qualifying for OFSAA, a senior men’s silver medal at the Ontario championships, 5 athletes being named to Team Ontario for the Nationals and a youth boys 4th place team finish at Nationals.
Results from the Nationals included: Youth Boys: Team 4th, led by Evan Burke placing 4th individually. Other teammates included Kyle Koyanagi (22nd), Aaron Canfield (30th) Caleb Canfield (109) and Tyrone Traher (111). All but Tyrone return as youth next year! Junior Women: Zoe Burke 20th – competing up and age group Junior Men: our top finisher was Brad Sheeler in 42nd Senior Women: Amanda Truelove placing 27th was our top finisher Senior Men: finished the day off with a fine performance as we had two in the top 25 – Kevin Blackney (18th) and Phil Parrot-Migas (25th). The rest of the team (which finished 14th in Canada) included Hunter Andrin (76th), Chris Caddey (88th), Aidan Attema (90th).
